Why Doing the Same Oral Hygiene Routine Each Day Can Be Problematic

Oral Hygiene Cameo Dental Specialists IL 60305Making sure that you do what you need to do to take care of your teeth each day is very important. This involves two times of brushing each day - once in the morning and once at night.

You should also floss one time every day. Plus, you should also make sure to use a really good mouthwash once per day.

To top that off, you need to make sure you come in and see us every six months. These are all important parts of taking care of your teeth. However, if you never change up that routine, it may not be helping your teeth as much as you think.

What You Need to Do to Care for Your Teeth the Best

The best way to care for your teeth is to perform these same daily tasks slightly differently each day. If you only do them in the exact same way, it becomes routine.

This means you may not pay as close of attention to every part of your mouth. You can try standing in a different spot or using a different bathroom sink to change things up.

There are different flavor options when it comes to your toothpaste that can help. Starting your brushing in a different part of your mouth can also help change up that routine. Just something needs to change each day to ensure you pay very close attention during the entire process.

Brushing, flossing, and rinsing each day is a great start to having healthy teeth. However, if you do not pay attention as you clean them, you may miss areas because you are just going through the same motions each day. Change things up and feel the difference in your mouth each day, and see it during your next cleaning and exam.
