![]() Damage To The EnamelThe enamel on your teeth is strong, but that does not mean that it can withstand metal constantly rubbing against it. If you have a lip ring, the enamel in one spot will constantly be hit by the piercing. If you have a tongue ring it will hit even more enamel. You cannot replace enamel, once it is gone, it is gone for good.Cracks and ChipsA lip piercing will do more than just hurt the enamel. Another thing that it can do is to crack or chip the teeth that are right next to the ring. A tongue piercing will hit several teeth. Each time that you say a word, with each bite of food that you take, you will risk chipping or cracking your teeth.Gum DamageOral piercings can also damage your gums. This could lead to infections. You could also end up with loose teeth. They may even fall out eventually.Piercings can look great, in the right places. Your mouth is not one of those places. You need to carefully consider the amount of damage that you can and will do to your teeth if you decide to go ahead and have the piercings done. If you do, know that we are here to help you with the damage that will be caused by the piercings. |
