In 2006, she graduated Cum Laude and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Southern Illinois University. She went on to Periodontal Residency at Saint Louis University

Dr. Powers moved to Chicago in 2010 and began treating patients in need of periodontal care and surgery in the offices of friends. While continuing to work at those offices, she accepted a position at the James A. Lovell Federal Healthcare Center and VA Hospital, near the Great Lakes Naval Base. There, she treated the underserved population of our disabled Veterans and many current Active Duty patients in need of periodontal and surgical care. At the hospital, she also taught Periodontics and Oral Surgery techniques to the Active Duty Navy AEGD residents.
Dr. Powers specializes in regenerative techniques and periodontal plastic (gingival) surgery. She appreciates and strives for a multi-disciplinary and team approach to patient care.
