MEDICAL CAREER

Dr. Sugar was born and raised in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, he completed his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Miami – Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he trained under Dr. Robert Marx, a world-renowned surgeon and expert in oral pathology and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Sugar’s clinical interests include ambulatory anesthesia, dental implants and bone grafting, third molar surgery, and facial trauma.

PROFESSIONAL LIFE AND LAURELS

Dr. Sugar is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member in the Illinois Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Chicago Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and Chicago Dental Society.

INTERESTS AND PHILANTHROPY

Dr. Sugar lives in Glenview with his wife and two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Bernie and Moose. Outside the office he enjoys traveling, golfing, and skiing, as well as exploring the city with Bernie and Moose.
