Dr. Rick Munaretto is passionate about the profession of dentistry. He followed in the footsteps of his father and uncle when he decided to specialize in endodontics. Dr. Rick strives for perfection with every case by using his experience, expertise and the most advanced evidence-based technology and treatment.

MEDICAL CAREER

After receiving his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, with honors, from Benedictine University in 1997, Dr. Rick attended UIC College of Dentistry where he graduated first in his class. Dr. Rick earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001. While at UIC, Dr. Rick received a second BS degree and many awards including the Luz Bondoc Scholarship for the highest Part I & II National Board scores and the Alpha Omega award for the highest cumulative GPA in the Class of 2001. He was also inducted into the OKU National Dental Honors Society. Dr. Rick completed a specialty residency in endodontics at University of Illinois-Chicago College of Dentistry in 2003.

 

Dr. Rick is a member and past representative of many dental societies including the Chicago Dental Society (CDS), Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS), American Dental Association (ADA), Illinois Endodontic Society, American Association of Endodontists (AAE), and Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). He is a member of the Edgar D. Coolidge Endodontic study club and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (ABE). He completed his ABE Diplomate certification in 2008.

PROFESSIONAL LIFE AND LAURELS

Dr. Rick is currently an associate professor at UIC College of Dentistry. He lectures at the university and within the dental community on dental traumatic injuries, Cone Beam Computed Tomography, endodontic surgery, socket grafting and dental implants.

 

Dr. Rick established the Windy City Seminars in the western suburbs in conjunction with the international organization, Seattle Study Club. The goal of the Seattle Study Club is to provide continuing education that fosters personal and professional values of excellence in the dental profession, promote the well-being of patients and the overall improvement of health standards and practices in the community. Windy City Seminars is the first Seattle Study Club directed by endodontists.

 

Dr. Rick has received two 40 Under 40 awards. In 2013, Benedictine University recognized Dr. Rick with the prestigious Top 40 Under 40 Society Award because of his leadership and innovation in the field of dentistry. In 2011, Incisal Edge Magazine awarded Dr. Rick with a 40 Under 40 Award for his leadership and mentorship in his specialty practice of endodontics. Dr. Rick has been selected to be an Edgar D. Coolidge Endodontic Study Club officer.

INTERESTS AND PHILANTHROPY

Dr. Rick lives in the western suburbs with his wife and three children.
